In this strange time of self isolation due to Covid-19 everybody needs “Happy Days” and Blink-182 have delivered with the official release of the video to accompany the aforementioned track. To complete the video, which quite literally contains people waiting for happier days, Blink-182 enlisted the help of their fans.
The video has entirely been shot by the band in quarantine at their respective homes. The clips of the band members has been meshed with clips from fans who are also spending their time in isolation. The video is the epitome of waiting for “Happy Days” with each fan dealing with the daily struggle of wearing masks, social distancing and the monotony of being confined to their home.
From playing instruments, eating snacks, having dance offs to washing hands, the video still has a hopeful and happy fun tone as people wait for their routines to return back to normal. To add some extra buzz to the video, it also includes some celebrity cameos such as Machine Gun Kelly, The Used’s Bert McCracken, Steve-O, Bella Thorne and Emo Nite’s Babs Szabo.
“Happy Days” is the third sing from Blink-182’s latest album NINE, which also features singles “I Really Wish I Hated You”, “Darkside”, “Generational Divide” and “Blame It On My Youth”. NINE, their eighth album, is a pop punk album which will greatly appeal to a more youthful audience who may be more familiar with Blinks work through cameo’s of Barkers across various up and coming and established hip hop stars of the past decade. If anything it will increase Blinks appeal to audiences for another few years to come.
