Jerry Cantrell Working On New Solo Album

Jerry Cantrell last released his solo album Degradation Trip in June 2002. Since then he hasn't released another solo album other than the expanded album Degradation Trip Volumes 1 & 2 which were also released in 2002. Now the Alice in Chains guitarist and vocalist tells MusiCares that he's working on a brand new solo album for 2020 having recently played his first solo show since 2004 in December 2019.

“When I’m with Alice, I’m with Alice and that takes the majority of my time. This year, we’re taking a little time off so. If you liked any of the solo work that I did or work with Alice, I’m sure you might like some of this stuff too.”

Fans will be eager to see who features on his new solo work. Degradation Trip featured bassist Robert Trujillo from Metallica and Mike Bordin from Faith No More.

Jerry's recent solo shows have included guitarist Tyler Bates from Marilyn Manson, The Black Queen vocalist Greg Puciato, ex-Megadeath bassist James LoMenzo and drummer Gil Sharone.
