Lamb of Gods album release may be a little delayed but fans won’t be too disappointed as they are still releasing fresh tracks of their upcoming self titled album. The latest song to be released is titled “New Colossal Hate”.
According to guitarist Willie Adler : “‘New Colossal Hate’ came out of our very first writing session in Maine. Mark [Morton], our producer Josh Wilbur and I were at a super cool studio in South Windham called Halo, an absolutely beautiful spot run by some of the best people I’ve ever met. I’m pretty sure ‘New Colossal Hate’ grew from a few different demos I had. You know, like parts of car. However, as it started to take shape, it quickly became my favorite song on the record. Please enjoy this banger of a tune. It holds a very special place in my heart.”
Although previous Lamb of God albums have tackled specific issues with Ashes Of The Wake and the war in Iraq this album tries to bring attention to injustice in the United States and abroad along with a harrowing self reflection of harsh realities of the world we live in.
With tracks like “On The Hook” which deals with opiod addiction and “Reality Bath” which highlights school shootings now becoming a normal occurrence, this album isn’t afraid to look at the dark side of modern times.
“New Colossal Hate” follows on from Lamb of Gods video release in March for “Memento Mori” which has been viewed more than 3.5 million times to date. Memento Mori is an amazing storytelling by the band against a backdrop set by the dark performance troupe Sinisteria.
The latest album has some noteable guest appearances such as Chuck Billy from Testament and Jamey Jasta from Hatebreed. Blythes vocals on Lamb of God are some of the most determined and angry in their long career.
“New Colossal Hate” can be heard along with the video posted above. It’ll be part of the band’s self-titled record, now due June 19 via Epic Records. Pre-orders are available here, while the track is now available via digital service providers.
